Her main areas of interest include: fixed and removable prosthodontics, management of complex restorative cases including treatment of patients with toothwear (with a confirmative and re-organised approach), hypodontia (congenitally missing teeth), oral rehabilitation of head and neck cancer patients and implant dentistry. Mrs Ranka has the experience of joint orthodontic-restorative treatment planning for treatment of patients with hypodontia and cleft lip and palate. She enjoys her work of restoring smiles and oral rehabilitation.
Mrs Ranka is a specialist in Restorative Dentistry including Prosthodontics, Periodontics and Endodontics. She commenced her specialist training in Restorative Dentistry at Liverpool Dental Hospital and attained FDS (Rest Dent) RCS in 2012 from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Mrs Ranka was appointed as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the Royal Preston Hospital in July 2013 and was the Clinical Lead for this service. She was the Clinical Director of Dental Specialties Department from 2016 to 2018 and achieved clinical excellence awards for her work during this time in addition to a charitable grant from Rosemere Cancer Centre for the restorative service. She has been the Clinical Audit lead and regularly chaired the Evidence Based Dentistry Forums at the Hospital. Her main remit at the hospital included oral rehabilitation of head and neck oncology patients.
Mrs Ranka has been recently appointed as a Senior Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital and is setting up the Restorative Service for this region, with her specialist interest in Head and Neck Cancer. She regularly attends courses, conferences and seminars for continuing professional development and has completed an Advanced Implantology course at the Branemark Institute in Johannesburg, SA. She is a member of the British Society of Prosthodontics and has been actively involved in Restorative Managed Clinical Networks. At home, she is a busy mum and enjoys spending her time with her husband and son. She plays badminton and her hobbies include crafts, travelling and cooking.
